During the war Carthage used its strong navy to protect its trading empire and then the Romans decided to copy them and make there own fleet but with bridges to board the Carthaginian ships and the Romans took them down then Carthage was forced to give up there island to the Romans and pay them a huge fine
Effects of the war were Carthage was defeated and forced to give up Sicily and pay Rome a huge fine
