During business school, Jessica began to work at Academy, though she received many sexist comments and was passed up for promotions because her superiors believed that a man should have a better job because men are more "sporty" than women.
Fed up with the sexist comments at work, Jessica decided to put her business degree to work and begin her own sporting goods company. She has doubts though, because she was told by her friends and family that she should settle down and find a husband first.
Jessica ignored the comments from her friends and family, and she began Clark's Sporting Goods, without the help of a husband. Her business took off, and she is now very successful, giving money to her parents so that they can move out of their apartment and into a house.
