I was at the fair grounds, when I saw my pie competition. I thought I wasn't gonna win so I switched labels with my competition. But then I won! My oponit got the 1st Place prize that I wanted! An airplane ride.
I showed the judge the ribbon from my hat as if it was the prize ribbon. He believed me. I saw hope in Joey's eyes, and I knew why they were there. He was hoping that he would get the ride. And he would. I knew that the plane couldn't lift me off the ground for too long. I just wanted to know what it's like above the ground. Plus, I didn't really wand Joey to know I wanted him to ride. too much emotions!
Sure enough, the plane dropped. I told the pilot to let Joey take my prize. Joey had a goofy grin on his face, and a grateful look in his eyes. I saw him soar through the air easily. I knew he was dreaming, like all kids should.
Afterwards, I saw Grandma switch the name tags of her and a better looking pie. Oh Grandma!
We better win. I need that plane ride. Mary Alice will be too chicken. And Grandma isn't fit for travel! I just know the'll let me go!
I guess I was wrong cause she had the ribbon to show as proof. Wait. Grandma was getting on the plane! Naw! Did she really think that the plane could support her?
I was really bummed that Grandma went on instead of me. But just as predicted the plane crashed. Grandma turned around and said ,"How 'bout my ganson. He can ride on the plane." I honestly, have never felt that happy. EVER! Just me and the pilot above all of the worry's' in life. Who would have guessed that my dream, my finest moment, my greatest memory, would happen in the summer with grandma?
