On the island of Crete lived Daedalus, a builder an architect, who built the Labyrinth for King Minos to house the Minotaur.
The Labyrinth was a vast maze, the biggest and most complicated there ever was and ever will be.
However, because of the reasons for the Labyrinth's creation, King Minos was upset and imprisoned Daedalus and his son, Icarus.
They planned and built a way to escape- wings!
Be careful, Icarus, and don't fly too high because the warmth of the sun may cause you to plunge downward. So you stay with me, and you will be safe.
Finally, they were done- it was time to escape.
Father, I will heed your command.
However, Icarus did not listen, and his wings melted when he flew near the sun. Daedalus was too far away to help, and could only watch as Icarus plunged towards the sea- from a deadly height.
For days, Daedalus looked for Icarus, but could not find him. Meeting his tragic destiny, Daedalus continued his journey alone.
