  • You think you're better than me?!
  • Pap, you know I can read and write.
  • Judge Thatcher: Sure thing!
  • Pap is extremely jealous that his son Huckleberry can read and write yet he can't. This shows what type of character Pap is. He is a drunk, non-caring man.
  • Huckleberry gives his money to Judge Thatcher to prevent his father, Pap, from using it all on alcohol. This also shows what type of character Huck is. He is against materialism.
  • Huckleberry ran away from his father. He did this by faking his death.
  • Huck Finn, while living with the widow Douglas and Miss Watson, started to realize he didn't want conform to society. This shows that Huck Finn contradicts society.
  • When Huck drags the dead pig, dragging the blood everywhere to make it seem as if he was murdered and taken out of the house, this shows that Huck has a very creative mind and thinks for himself.
  • When Huck Finn finally is free from all of his previous enforcements, this commenced his joy ride of freedom essentially.
