My Thanksgiving beliefs were that it was a time of great joy were family would come together to have a feast and hang out. Food was plentiful and we gave thanks. The pilgrims and Native Americans worked together to hunt and work while learning things from both sides. It was a way to bond without fighting.
Native Americans also after the event gathered food but celebrated with some sadness, because of what we did to them before and after the event. We killed them, took their land, and stole from them. They even called Thanksgiving,"National Day of Mourning."
I don't really know what to do, I can't change the past. Also when I'm with my family its hard to be sad. We did those things a long time ago, what I'm concerned about is that it might happen again. We now know the facts and perspectives.
