I'm going to burn your books
I will do it myself
Power of TV
Mildred, try reading a book. All everyone cares about now is TV
The government burns books because they fear people having knowledge. ""Aren't you going to ask me about last night?" he said."What about it?""We burned a thousand books. We burned a woman." Bradbury made this by making the TV more popular, so only the people who were extremely dedicated to books had them.
"No! Montag held to the window sill. This way! Here! The procaine needle flicked out and in, out and in. A single clear drop of the stuff of dreams fell from the needle as it vanished in the Hound's muzzle." Bradbury uses the hound to symbolize the control of the government. The hound is smart and can track people.
Bradbury makes everyone watch TV so the government barely has to take away books. "An hour of TV class, an hour of basketball or baseball or running, another hour of transcription history or painting pictures, and more sports, but do you know, we never ask questions"
