  •  Connotations: The poem has both negative and positive connotations. The positive connotations include words like ‘ero, Thank you and others. The negative connotations include words like mock, slops and others.
  • Attitude: The attitude of this poem is angry.
  • O-okay Uhhhhh.

  • Shift: The poem shifts when Tommy goes from not fighting to fighting and the way that the civilians treat the soldiers when they and aren’t fighting.
  • Theme: The theme was the disrespect that the soldiers get when they are not fighting and the two-facedness of the way the civilians treat the soldiers.
  • Be careful of him, he is  a soldier and soldiers are a danger.
  •  Title: The title is significant because it is the name of the soldier, the name everyone forgot until the guns began to shoot.
