  • Mason Cogswell offered to pay for Gallaudet to go to England and learn how to sign and come back and teach Alice.
  • Sicard's school
  • The first place Gallaudet went was Braidwood Academy but they said he would have to stay for 5 years and pay them for each student they tought.
  • To America
  • Gallaudet then went to Paris and sicard offered to teach him sign language for free.
  • American School For The Deaf
  • Clerk, one of Sicards most valued students, offered to got to America with Gallaudet,
  • On the way back To America Gallaudet showed Clerk how to read and wright in English and Clerk showed Gallaudet how to sign.
  • When they returned to America they founded the first deaf school in america called the American School For The Deaf where Alice was one of the first students.
