Enkidu tries to stop Gilgamesh from going into the marriage house to fulfill his task given to him by the gods to stop Gilgamesh from taking advantage of the women in Uruk. He becomes Gilgamesh's mentor from then.
Motivated by his emotions and fear of death after witnessing the death of is best friend Enkidu, Gilgamesh sets out to find immortality.
Gilgamesh is put to the test to see if he is worthy of immortality by Utnapishtim. He is told to stay awake for 7 days and 7 nights. He soon falls asleep and fails his test.
