Storyboard Text

  • I Have RAM AND ROM
  • The ROM Starts Me Up with the bootstrap and My RAM now holds my operating system :)
  • My PC is better than yours
  • A computer Has RAM and ROM the ROM starts the computer up with a bootstrap and the BIOS. The RAM holds the operating system when the computer is running.
  • The ROM starts the computer with the Bootstrap and BIOS. The ROM is a small chip on the motherboard that holds this data.
  • The RAM can hold data that is active like applications for example power point would use the RAM whilst its running and if you close down the application more less RAM space is used.
  • ROM Is non volatile therefore when you turn the power off the computer the ROM will still have the data for the instructions of the bootstrap for the next time the computer is turned on.
  • RAM is volatile therefore when the computer is turned off and no power is being received to the RAM the RAM loses all the data that was active .
  • For All computers you need RAM And ROM because RAM is used whilst the computer is on and running applications and games. Whilst ROM is used every time the computer is started up
