Fade and Deuce have to defend each other but also find out the truth
Faith Windsheimer "Progress Report #3: The Desire to Escape"
No one can be independent. No one can have their own say
Both Fade and Deuce wanted to be free and escape from what they knew
Both Fade and Deuce find an old city that once was the home of thousands.
“There were different kinds of strength. I knew that now. It didn't always come from a knife or a willingness to fight. Sometimes it came from endurance, where the well ran deep and quiet. Sometimes it came from compassion and forgiveness.” (pg 109). After Fade and Deuce are kicked out of their Enclave, they are given the chance to be free. They still have to survive, but they get to find out the truth
They will find the truth
“Here in the enclave, one didn't prosper by demonstrating too much independent thought.” (Pg 53). Deuce, being raised in the Enclave her whole life, didn't know how to think for herself. Her and Fade both wanted to have a mind of their own, They both wanted the freedom to live how they wanted to.
Both Fade and Deuce find an old city that once was the home of thousands. They find an old library with things that they've never known or heard of. “In the enclave, the strong and the physically perfect survived, but if you were strong, you protected the weak until they had an opportunity to grow into their own power.” (154) In the library, they find out why their Enclave was afraid of the truth
I think both Fade and Deuce will understand why they were hidden from the truth but will still be angry. I also think that they will find everyone who escaped the old city. I also think that they will come together with their enemies to conquer the freaks and bring peace to the Enclave
