  • I'm having trouble understanding Newton's laws of motion
  • Newton's laws of motion? I know all about those. I can help.
  • I'm starting to get it!
  • Newton's first law of motion states that an object at rest or in motion stays at rest or in motion
  • You jolt forward because of an unbalanced force,  so both you and the car have inertia!
  • When you're at a red light, and the car accelerates...
  • What's that?
  • There are still two other laws! I'll tell you about Newton's second law, The law of acceleration
  • If I apply enough force to the ball, it will accelerate quickly, and go past you into the net
  • So if a ball is 5kg and it accelerates at 5m/s squared the force would be 25N!
  • Force is equal to the mass of object times how fast it accelerates.
