Wow, there are so many industrial suburbs around here!
I can't believe he was killed.
Born in the Russian village of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Gavriil Zima knew only the life of serfdom for the first 21 years of his dreary life. Fighting for the country he loved, Gavriil's father died in the Crimean War many years prior. This sparked Gavriil's internal feelings of nationalism for Russia.
Even though life was still rough for him, Gavriil found the money and time to visit Moscow. Before he left though, he helped elect his mother as a member of the zemstvo for his town. Now that Alexander II was in power, he made many changes towards Modernization that Gavriil could see throughout the city.
While visiting the city, Gavriil became witness to a drastic turn of events; a member of an anarchist group became outraged over Alexander II's political reforms and assassinated him.
