Storyboard Text

  • I guess I can order people around now?
  • Greetings comrade, we shall improve Russia together!
  • In response to the assassination, a new tsar, Alexander III, came to power. However, the day after the transition in leaders, Gavriil was mistaken for Alexander and ended up with more power than he could have ever imagined.
  • RIP all those innocent people...
  • Sergei Witte noticed there was something off about this new tsar, but he kept quiet and decided to work with Gavriil to establish tariffs and a gold standard, guiding the young boy along the way. Eventually, the real Alexander III gave up on reclaiming his position.
  • I agree with your ideas, comrade.
  • After many years of rule, Gavriil was now old and witnessed Nicholas II become the new tsar. Nicholas II brought about a military disaster, and Gavriil, like many other Russians, became upset with him and participated in the Revolution of 1905. When they also attempted to peacefully present a petition to Nicholas II, troops opened fire upon them, creating Bloody Sunday.
  • Gavriil and the priest, Father Gapon were among those that were injured but passionate about these events. The resulting surge of increased revolution influenced the tsar to issue the October Manifesto which promised civil rights and Duma.
  • Gavriil was surprisingly elected onto the Duma and helped with important decisions. As a way to appease the angry population and strive toward a constitutional monarchy, he and the other Duma members put out a new constitution, the Fundamental Laws.
  • Gavriil Zima lived a very eventful life with humble beginnings, and as he was laying on his death bed he reflected upon his past. He was glad to have been an influence in Russia's development, despite the conflict and division of its people.
