  • We need to follow the constitutation
  • I have a plan that just follows 3 simple steps
  • Whiskey Rebellion
  • The French Revolution
  • The British or the French ??
  • Hamilton’s plan was to first pay off all the war debt, then to raise government revenues, lastly was to create a national bank. Jefferson thought that opening a national bank could be a loophole into reading the constitution.  He believed in what the constitution said and only what it said nothing that they could do around it.  Jefferson and Hamilton disagreed and put it toward Washington, in the long run Hamilton won.

  • During the French Revolution, the United States had to choose who to support. The french that had helped us during our uprising or the British who was one of our main trading partner. Hamilton thought that if we didn’t support the British that we would lose them as partners in trade. Washington thought that it would be best if we didn’t get involved. So it was said that the United States would remain neutral and not pick a side.
