Storyboard Text

  • Claudius, Act I, scene 2
  • Claudius
  • Gertrude
  • Hamlet
  • Welcome, dear Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Moreover that we much did long to see you,... Hamlet's "transformation"-- so call it since nor th' exterior nor the inward man resembles that it was... you may glean , whether aught afflicts him...
  • Claudius, Act II, scene 2
  • Rosencrantz
  • Guildenstern
  • Claudius, Act III, scene 1
  • Oh, 'Tis too true! How smart a lash that speech doth give my conscience! The harlot's cheek, beautied with plastering art, is not more ugly to the thing that help it than is my deed to my most painted word. O heavy burden!
  • I think that this part of the play is important because it show what Claudius' Character is like. This scene shows that Claudius has little to no real sadness for the death of his brother. It also presents the motive of his lack of sadness, with him taking the most immediate path to the throne. It is our first introduction to this character and who he is.
  •  Though yet of Hamlet our dear brother's death the memory be green, and that it us befitted to bear our hearts in grief... therefor our sometime sister, now our queen, th' jointress to this warlike state, Have we.
  • This scene has Claudius telling Rosencrantz and Guilenstern to spy on Hamlet. He disguises the true purpose by making it seem like it is for Hamlet's own good, but it is really it see if Hamlet know that Claudius killed his own brother. this scene is important because it shows how manipulative Claudius can really be.
  • I think that this seen is the most important out of all of them for Claudius. In this seen we get to see the real Claudius, in all his guilt. This is where we actually get depth to the character and make him more then just the bad dude.
