The changes Edward made to the catholic church

Storyboard Text

  • When Henry VIII died, his son Edward VI became King. Here are some changes that he made to the church
  • This is what a Catholic church looked like before Edward changed it. There were lots of stain glass windows and expensive things eg the priests wore very expensive garments.
  • Edward changed the Catholic Churches into Protestant Churches by getting rid of the fancy alter, the priests expensive garments ( they had to were plain simple clothes in the new Protestant church) and there was no more stain glass windows
  • I liked the Catholic churches alot better 😞
  • I like the Bible (Catholic Prayer Book)
  • Edward didn't like how the Bible was in Latin because nobody, except those who were educated in the church, couldn't understand Latin. This is why he created his own prayer book in English called the English prayer book
  • I like the Protestant English Prayer Book
  • Another change Edward made was with the Rood gate. In Catholic churches, there would be a gate that sectioned off the priest and the alter from the people. Edward didn't like this as it showed the priests where more special and mysterious
  • Sadly at the age of just 15 years old, Edward VI died. Even though he was young, he made lots of changes to the Catholic Church. On of the changes that Edward made to the Church that we have today is that the Bible was changed into English.
  • Thank you for reading my comic strip 😆
