One day, when my grandmother was walking to her high school when she ran into her math teacher. Who offered her a job teaching calculus to the younger students an hour and a half before school started.
Hello, I will be teaching you Calculus today.
She was only 16 at the time but she took the job. She was able to teach them a lot and ended up creating a close bond with the students. She loved the students and the teaching so much she began to consider it as her job.
She taught the younger students and proceeded with her school day. By the time school was over she was so excited about the teaching job that she wanted to become a teacher some day.
She eventually started teaching and taught at Georgetown, where she met my grandfather, Alan. Who she would later marry and begin a family with.
With Alan, she started a family with four daughters. Which eventually turned into 10 grandchildren and a big happy family! As well as working 25 years at Georgetown and touching students lives and hearts.
So if not for running into her math teacher by coincidence she wouldn't be where she is today and I wouldn't have ever even been born. Lives hung in the balance of that day and luck was on her side. Though she did not know it.
