The time in which the Church of England was formed was a time of angered men and women. Whereas some was okay with the religious change, others sought out ways to escape this change. In the end, a decent amount of the English left for Holland, one of the places located within the Netherlands.
The First Winter begins.
For the Pilgrims, the trip to America was a rather awful journey. One of the many things that went wrong was that the Mayflower went off course, heading north to Cape Cod. As the winter season was approaching fast, they docked the Mayflower on Cape Cod.

Before the lot left the ship, the Pilgrims signed a document called the Mayflower Compact, in which whomever signed stated that they would obey all of the laws passed.
The First Thanksgiving begins.
As the colony had not set up much within the New World as of yet, many Pilgrims had died- that being at least half of the bunch. Sickness, starvation, and the cold of winter was to blame for the majority of the deaths.
Once spring had arrived, the Pilgrims had much to be thankful for, all thanks to two Native Americans named Squanto and Samoset. The two taught the Pilgrims where to hunt, fish, and how to grow all sorts of crops.
After all of the helpful assistance from the Native Americans, the colonists celebrated with a feast, which was accompanied by the Wampanoag Indians.
