Hey Mike, do you smoke? If not I've got some of my mom's pills you are welcome to try. What do you say?
Hi Joe, let me think about this for a little bit. Thanks for the offer.
I know that pain killers are only used by adults with severe pain. Some of the side effects include nausea, dizziness, and sweating. I want to be cool but I know the dangers.
I could follow Joe and play it cool and not use the pills, but if caught I could be guilty by association.
I could say no to Joe and return to the party, but I don't really want to do that. What should I do?!
My choices are: I could take the pills with Joe and feel cool, but ruin the risk of getting caught or sick.
Will my friends think I'm cool? Will my family be proud of the decision I'm making? What are my potential consequences?
I need to think more thoroughly about the decision I'm about to make.
There was a body found in the woods last night, and the police believe she may have overdosed. She was in your class, and your friend Joe could be in some big trouble for supplying the drugs. Thank god you are okay.
Do I want to take the pills? Is it good for my body? Why should I or should I not do this?
Not a problem, Mike. We are having a great time and we'd love to have you join us sometime. Take care.
Thank you for the offer, Joe. My mom will be picking me up shortly so I am not able to come with you. Hopefully we can do it another time!
Wow, I sure am glad I walked away from that situation. A poor decision like that could have impacted my life dramatically. If I had mixed those pills with alcohol, I could have died. That is a dangerous combination. Oh well, I better toward the school parking lot so my mom can pick me up.
Wow! Thankfully I made the right decision. That was a valuable lesson and I will never put my self in a situation like that again. Hopefully everyone else is okay.
Thanks Mom. What makes you say that?
Good morning, son. I just wanted to let you know how proud I am of you for making the decision last night.
