"We are going to get you graduated you have to have time for homework. Okay, I'm gonna bribe you. What's a good incentive for you?" Said the teacher "you can call my grandma" says Summer (Fulton ,Pepe 5:13)
It graps the audience emotions by having her parents leave her at such a young age that she had to learn things on her own and almost be come a care giver for her grandparents. The frame helps by showing that there was nothing around her to help her out. Also that things live will be shot down by having to focus on her family
Logos appears in this part by having 88% of the schools students below property line. It makes them work harder to try to achieve the goals they have in life. Most students have to help their families by working and looking after them to help their family out. Summer talks to the counselor about how she wants to persue her dreams but also having a conflict of having to tease care of her family.
This can relate to ethos because she needs to have enough credits to graduate and to accomplish this she needs to do her homework as the teacher had said to her. By having her grandma know she is doing well in school her grandma can also help motivate and be proud of her. This motivation will help Summer achieve her goals of getting into the art school.
