  • French & Indian War
  • Stupid France! Give us the land!!
  • Stamp Act
  • Don't tax our paper!!
  • Boston Massacre
  • BANG
  • The French and Indian war is significant because this event started everything. When they wanted land, Britain and France went to war, but when Britain won, they needed money. They taxed the colonists which was the whole start of why they needed to call for independence, and this later resulted in the Stamp Act.
  • Boston Tea Party
  • no taxation without representation
  • The stamp act was significant because it was the whole reason that the colonists started fighting the government and getting angry. The Stamp Act was a major contribution to the call for independence because it was the start of the taxing, and the reason the colonists got angry and wanted to fight the government. After the stamp act, the taxing only got worse, and this event was the act that mainly caused the need to call for independence.
  • Second Continental Congress
  • This Is a significant event because it shows how unorganized Boston was, if their people and their colonists had to fight each other. It contributes to the call for independence because it angers everyone, and this battle leads to more and more fighting and boycott.
  • Thomas Paine's "Common Sense"
  • This very famous act is significant because it shows how much the colonists want the taxing to stop. If they dumped 342 boxe of one of their favorite goods into their own harbor, it means they are angry. This contributed to the call for independence by the King responding to this by lowering the tax rate.
  • We'll show King George III that he can't mess with the sons of liberty, and he'll stop taxing our goods!!
  • This is significant because it shows how little King George III cared about his citizens voices, and how much power he wants. This Contributed to the call for independence the started to prove to colonists that if they have to fight against their own country, something is messed up.
  • He didn't except, to war we go!
  • This is significant because this was the last string that caused the colonists and the king to go to war. This is a contribution to the call for independence because it is the deciding factor between who is going to win this constant battle between people of the same country.
  • Common Sense - Thomas Paine
  • Colonists have tried to solve the issue. You need to separate.
