  • Canned Food was invented by Nicolas Appert, in 1809, in France.
  • Child Labor
  • Canned food was helpful because it made food last alot longer than it normally would. It was also very helpful to soldiers.
  • Poor living conditions
  • Canning food is a simple process. They heat the food, then they put it in a can.
  • Low Pay  
  • During the Industrial revolution, Children had to work hard jobs for 10+ hours a day.
  • There were many members in a family, in which most of the children had to work. the rooms were crowded.
  • Children worked 70 hours a week and made only 60 cents a week.
