Siddhartha was born in a small town known as Lumbini, Nepal. His Family (the Kshatriya family) was very rich.He had very long earlobes and, at birth, he walked seven steps.
He had a very privileged life and a wise man came and told his family that he would become a great teacher or a strong king.
Siddhartha was given everything he could possibly desire, dad flowers were even removed from the garden so the prince couldn't see death.
Siddhartha wanted to explore the outside world but whilst secretly outside the castle walls, he saw four things: sickness; death; old age ad a holy man.
Years passed, he met a beautiful woman who became his wife and they soon had a child together. Siddhartha was upset with their baby boy because he knew that his son, too, would suffer sickness, old age and eventually death.
Siddhartha left, looking for the right way to live: not to privileged and not to unprivileged. He sat under a tree, satisfied he had found the right way to live, meditated for a while, and became the Buddha.
