  • Mohandas Gandhi led the non-violent movement against British Rule in India and South Africa. He was arrested many times for protesting.
  • I do not believe in your ideas!!!
  • I will always believe in nonviolence and equal rights for Indians.
  • On January 11, 1908, Gandhi was arrested in South Africa because he refused to register. Indians were required to register and carry a card.
  • Thousands of Indians followed Gandhi on the Salt March, a nonviolent protest that went to the Arabian Sea. The march was from March 12 - April 6, 1930.
  • Gandhi was killed on January 30, 1948, He was shot by a man who did not believe in his ideas. Gandhi is one of the most famous leaders in history.
