  • The leaders of French Revolution made plans to spread the ideas of the Declaration of Independence, other countries did not agree. Soon, France was at war with the Netherlands, Austria, Britain, and Prussia.
  • Napoleon Appointed Head of the Government
  • Robespierre executed all enemies of the country, George Danton (Robespierre's enemy) was executed. This time was known as the Reign of Terror.
  • How Napoleon Benefits France
  • Finally, in July 1794 leaders of the French Revolution turned against Robespierre. He tried to commit suicide, but was carried to the guillotine to execute. The Terror was over.
  • Napoleon's Death
  • In 1799, Napoleon Bonaparte was voted head of the government. He was very good at planning and organizing battles.
  • He made everybody equal, even poor people could be leaders. He came up with the Napoleon Code.
  • Napoleon crowned himself emperor, but other countries turned against him and sent him to a small island where he later died.
