  • Low on Money
  • Meeting of the Estates-General
  • Separation from 1st and 2nd Estates
  • The French wasted money by having low taxes and using money to help other countries in war.
  • Fight at Bastille
  • "Liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression."  "Free communication of ideas and opinions is one of the most precious of the rights of man."
  • King Louis called the meeting of the 3 Estates to try to raise the taxes to get more money.
  • Declaration of the Rights of Man
  • Declaration of the Rights of Man
  • The Third Estate separated from the others, they called themselves the National Assembly. They took the Oath of Tennis Court, which promises to write a constitution.
  • Escape of the King Louis
  • The king sided with the nobles, the Third Estate set off to Bastille and demanded weapons from the king. There was confusion and a fight started.
  • The National Assembly took over and came up  with the Declaration of the Rights of Man, which explained that all people had rights of freedom and equality.
  • The National Assembly took over, and took the privileges of the nobles. The king tried to escape to other countries, but was caught. He was put to treason and later on beheaded in the public.
