Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • "The prophecy told me that my son will one day kill me. Send the baby to the river to die." 
  • "That's too mean. I will leave him on the ground."
  • Conflict
  • "You're bound to kill your father. " 
  • Rising Action
  • What goes 4 feet in the morning, 2 feet at noon and three feet in the evening?
  • A MAN!
  • The king was told by the prophecy that his son will be destined to kill him one day. To prevent this from happening, he sends the baby off to the river but luckily, the servant left him on the ground. 
  • Climax
  • Oracle of Delphi tells Oedipus that he's destined to kill his father. To avoid the tragic event, he tries to run away from his fate.
  • Falling Action
  • Oedipus became the King of Thebes as he defeated the sphinx. He was honored by the citizens as he freed them by solving the riddle correctly.
  • Resolution
  • Oedipus finds out that he was responsible for killing his father  and married his mother. As he gets home, Jocasta hanged herself and Oedipus cuts his eyes out to blind himself.
  • He runs away from the city of Thebes with his 2 children.
  • He lives on as a blind man wandering around the world hopelessly.
