Hi! I'm Oxygen! Today, I'll be giving you a tour around my neighborhood, the Periodic Table!
The most popular people in town are the Metals! These guys are hard and shiny compared to their Alkali and Alkaline Earth relatives, and are ductile.
Down the lane lives the Noble Gases! These fellas don't like to interact with the other elements and share similar properties, so they all live together!
Over in the rundown section of the neighborhood lives the Actinides and Lanthanides. They are separated from everyone else because they are very reactive or even radioactive, and because of their unique properties.
At the end of the street resides the Alkali and Alkaline Earth Metals. These guys are useful for their ductility and malleability, and are often relied on by the other town members.
Coming back around to my end of the neighborhood lies the nonmetals and metalloids. The metalloids form a bridge between the metals and nonmetals, and share properties consistent with both metals and nonmetals. The nonmetals on the other hand consist of mostly gases that do not react with other elements.
