  • As it was time for the battle to begin, William Travis sent out his last and final letter for help. No one came and left them fight on their own. On that same day, Santa Anna got about 1,000 more soldiers to help.
  • Surrender or be put to death!
  • Then death to all the traitors! Kill all and leave none behind!
  • Never, its victory or death!
  • As the battle went on, many people died. William Travis was one of the first to die, he got shot straight in the head. The Alamo fell on March 6, 1836. The lives of women, children and slaves were spared, including Travis' slave.
  • James Bowie was suffering from an illness and died from Mexican soldiers.
  • Teacher! But what happened to James Bowie?
  • The Alamo battle lasted for about 90 minutes. In the end, the dead bodies of the the Texans were burned and Santa Anna signed a treaty for no more hostilities.
  • THE END!
  • We know this because WIlliam Travis' slave kept his letters and documents that he wrote!
