Jeremy hates himself and his life, and tries to commit suicide by hanging himself off of a crane.
Jeremy's friend Heather catches Jeremy in the act and saves him. She then goes on to scold him on how life is important and special.
Jeremy, overcome with anger and emotion, yells at Heather about how life is worth nothing and that everything would be easier if he died. He also tells Heather that her life would be easier if she would just kill herself too.
Later that week, Heather, impacted deeply by Jeremy's words, is questioning whether her life is actually worth something.
As Heather decides that her life DOES have value, Jeremy walks up to her silently. When she turns around, she is startled by his presence and fall backwards, tumbling off the ledge to her death.
Jeremy, mortified that he has just caused his friend's death, begins to realize the value of life as he is truly saddened by Heather's death. Jeremy learned the lesson in the end, but both he and Heather paid the price.
