  • Joseph Bazalgette
  • Too EXPENSIVE! Rejected!
  • In 1855, politicians in London asked to meet up with Joseph Bazalgette to discuss a sewage system because the streets of London stinked really badly.
  • Okay.
  • Here's £3 million, build the sewage system. It's too smelly here.
  • He was asked to draw up plans for a new sewage system so he starts working on the sewage plans for London.
  • They met up again, but the sewage plan was rejected as it costs too much money
  • In the summer of 1858, the smell got too strong due to the hot weather so Bazalgette was given £3 million to build the sewers.
  • *Pretend this is a sewage system*
  • Joseph Bazalgette hires people to do the work while he conducts and watches over them to make sure the sewage is built properly.
  • There is now a proper and better sewage system. Everything was much cleaner now! Yay!
