Black people were treated differently to white people - this was then stopped by a person called Rosa Parks who protested against this
White and Black people were only able to do things seperately, e.g. schools, water fountains, transport
On the 1st of december 1955 Rosa Parks boarded a bus and refused to give her seat to a white person
She was then arrested and fined but still refused to give in
After Rosa being fined black people rose up and protested by not going on buses and putting up signs and posters
Rosa was then Awarded a medal and was later called the Mother of Civil Rights Movement
