  • The English and French fight over land.  The English win with the help of colonists and certain tribes of native americans.
  • The colonists were forced to house British soldiers in their homes! Colonists were also required to provide troops with fuel, candles, beer, and transportation all at the expense of the colonists.
  •  The British passed the Coercive Acts in reaction to the Boston Tea Party.  They hoped to force colonists to pay for the tea lost and to obey British rule.
  • A group of colonists in Boston began to harass British troops, taunting them and throwing snowballs.  The situation soon go out of hand, and finally, the troops opened fire.
  • The Sons of Liberty organized the Boston Tea Party. They dressed as Native Americans and raided British ships in Boston Harbor. They dumped 92,000 pounds of tea into the harbor
  • In April of 1775, British troops heard of colonists hiding weapons and gunpowder in towns outside of Boston.  The English soldiers aimed to seize these weapons
