Storyboard Text

  • How are you going? Are you ok?
  • I have been feeling concerned about you lately.
  • Even if I’m not able to understand exactly how you feel, I care about you and want to help.
  • If you see signs such as hiding in their room, not going outside and having a different sleep pattern, ask them if they are ok. Keep doing this for a while.
  • I don't know what to do anymore
  • If they keep up this attitude, you have to initiate the conversation. Tell them that you are concerned about them. This usually causes the person to open up.
  • I ... I feel sad all the time and no one likes me.
  • Never say 'This is all in your head', 'Everyone goes through tough times' and 'Try to look on the bright side.' This never helps. Instead you should listen. Reassure them that they aren't alone and daily and friends will be there to help.
  • Hi! Would you like to tell me what is wrong? I'm here to help you.
  • If they start to open up, just listen. It is vital to be a good listener when someone is trying to express what they are feeling.
  • You have to comfort them when they are trying to speak, it isn't easy to describe what you are going through.
  • You should encourage them to get medicial help. Even if they don't feel like doing it, keep asking over a period of time.
