Today in class we will learn the importance of variables, collecting, analysing and graphing the data
Collecting the Data
It is important to put data in a table so a) you can store and not forget the data and b) so it is easy to understand and read.
Analysising data means you understand what you have written down and you can read it. It is important to analyse the data so you know what unit of measurement to put the data in and what graph you should do.
Collecting the data is the most important step because it is the thing you base all of the graphing and analysing the data on.
Variables are the x and y-axis titles. There are 3 types, independent, controlled and dependent. The independent variable is the one that changes, the dependent is the one that is being measured and the controlled is the one that stays the same.
That's it. These are the reasons why it is so important to be mindful of what you are doing because you can do the experiment graphing wrong so easily.
