I am the Carbon Scientist and my job is to show you the journey of my friend the Carbon Atom.
Right now we are in the surface ocean in the form of carbonic acid. Carbon Atom got here because the the gaseous carbon dioxide dissolved into carbonic acid.
Through the process of water currents, Carbon Atom was moved from the surface ocean to the deep ocean.
Carbon Atom was exchanged through respiration and is now inside of an animal.
Subsequently, Carbon Atom was breathed out through the process of respiration and can now be found in the atmosphere. Now it's in the form of carbon dioxide.
Through photosynthesis, Carbon Atom is in a tree now. The tree used the carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and made carbohydrates to supply itself with energy.
The tree shed its leaves and the leaf Carbon Atom was in decomposed and is now in the soil.
