Hi, my name is Yash. I find that this year's math course is more difficult than last year's course. The amount of homework we get is a little less than last year. The level of content we cover in class is approximately the same.
I am finding that I understand almost everything we learn in class and am able to apply it to my homework. However, when it comes to tests, I get nervous and make careless mistakes. This has caused my mark to be lower than last year.
My goal for this year in math is to achieve a final mark of 90% or higher. To achieve this goal I have been completing my homework on a daily basis and checking my answers as I go along to make sure I understand. I feel that going on I can do extra practice questions to strengthen my skills.
This semester I am doing very well in history. I like learning about the past and am very interested in it. One thing that is going not so well for me this semester is math. I feel that I am doing very poorly and that I could do much better if I put in more effort. I plan on putting in more hard work to get the marks I want.
I believe that Ms. K's teaching style is very good. She takes time to explain the content to us using various examples. One thing that I do hope Ms. K can change is to show us examples on how to do some of the harder (thinking/application) questions because I feel that the class understands the basic ones but struggle to understand the TIPS questions.
One idea that I have for Ms. K to help our entire class to do better is to have one or two TIPS/application questions a week on the unit that we are learning. I think that this way that we all get to practice our thinking skills .
