  • I hate the new Tea Tax applied in 1773! I have to pay 3 pennies per drink I buy
  • Why were the Colonists unhappy?
  • I am the leader of the SONS OF LIBERTY, Samuel Adams. We will abolish ALL the taxes by fighting the British and one of my plans is to steal the tea from their cargo!
  • Boston Massacre
  •                     Boston Tea Party #1
  • There were many reasons why the colonists (of modern day America) were unhappy during this period of time which will be stated below: 1: Ruled by another country: The colonists HATED being ruled by Britain, a country roughly 3000 miles away, who put taxes in which didn't even help the colonists in any way. All the money would go to Britain from the taxes. 2. The Stamp Act- In 1975 the British Parliament put in a new tax which packages and official documents would be taxed.
  • Boston Tea Party #2
  • Dad, how long are these men staying here for?
  • For weeks unfortunately. I hate having to wash there clothes, make them food and even lend them my bed!
  • 1970-A band of local patriots in Boston started throwing rocks and ice at the British soldiers who arrived at Boston as they hated them arriving in their city. The British soldiers got panicked and started firing shots. 5 civilians were dead on the streets of Boston. The first person that died was Crispus Attucks, an ex-slave. The Sons Of Liberty used the situation to their advantage by making propaganda and saying that the British killed innocents on purpose, framing the Brits
  • Battle of Lexington
  • Boston Tea Party- December 6th 1773- Again, another crime carried out by the sons of liberty, they stole and threw overboard, 342 chests of tea, worth 9,559 pounds worth of damage, which is now equivalent to 1,700,000 dollars! They disguised themselves as mohawlk Indians so they would not get get caught. The tea was owned by the British East India Company. The tea tax caused all of the damage to happen because they thought 'No taxation without representation'.
  •  Battle of Concorde
  • You wounded 41 of our men and killed 49!
  • You wounded 174 of our men and killed 73!
  • After the Boston Tea Party took place, Boston Harbor was shut down for weeks. In Britain, they sent Benjamin Franklin to court as they thought that he was the man in charge of the tea party. Many British soldiers arrived to take full control over Boston and Massachusets. (Thomas Hutchinson was the governor of Massachusets). The British were very cruel and did something called quartering, which meant citizens had to let soldiers live in there home.
  • It was a small war, the first one between the two. When the British arrived in Lexington, there were only 80 American militia men, who were led by captain John Parker. The leader of the British was Major John Pitcairn. The British army were much larger than the Americans so they didn't expect a large war. 1 shot started it all. Some of the conolist's died but the others fled . Ralph Wald Emerson wrote the quote of the first shot " shot heard around the world"
  • After the American's fled, the British arrived in Concorde. The American militia men were much less people. The British were looking for the American weapons. The Americans left to the north Bridge of Concorde. More Americans joined them and crossed the bridge to Concorde. The Americans shot down and defeated the British which regained the Americans' confidence. The rest of the British fled to Boston but continued getting attacked by the Americans.
