  • William the Conqueror
  • I will create a book called the Domesday Book.
  • Domesday Book
  • Henry II
  • I brought back law and order to my people.
  • On Christmas Day 1066, William took the crown of England after defeating another person who also wanted power at the Battle of Hastings. He had the Domesday census taken to learn about his kingdom. This helped build a successful system of collecting taxes, which would help them build up their kingdom.
  • King John
  • The Domesday Book was created by King William in 1086. The Domesday Book is a way for William to collect taxes from the people that he ruled. Pigpen was included in the taxes for people's that own a pigpen.
  • The Magna Carta
  • In 1154 Henry II became king of England. When Henry II was king he brought back law and order to England, he also reformed the legal system. Henry found a way to expanded the custom law and he created the jury system. When Henry II wanted to expand royal power its lead to a bitter dispute with the Church.
  • Edward I
  • John is the youngest son of Henry II. John is a clever, greedy, cruel, and untrustworthy king. When John was king he has three great enemies, they are King Philip II of France, Pope Innocent III, and his people. John was made to sign The Magna Carta on June 15, 1215, because of his way of ruling.
  • I have signed The Magna Carta.
  • The MC (The Magna Carta) is a document that give certain rights to the people. King John signed the The MC in June 15, 1215. The MC benefit the Barons and church the most, and some law that it created is that women can inherited property, and that people can't be punish for a crime unless it is a law.
  • Edward I is the eldest son of Henry III. When Henry III died in 1272, Edward was fighting in the Holy Land fighting in the Crusades, and he wasn't name the successor, but England welcomed him as the new King of England. Edward conquered Wale, and Scotland when he is alive.
  • We welcome you our king.
