  • "What if we DRIVE them out?", thought the Metis and the Nor'Westers. So, they stole farm equipment and horses, and shot their guns to frighten the settlers.
  • The settlers surrendered and decided to move. The summer of 1815, many of them loaded their belongings into canoes then left.
  • In June, 1816, a group of Metis led by Cuthbert Grant was passing by Fort Douglas(the place where the Red River colonists moved to). The governor, Robert Semple, led an army to challenge Grant.
