Christmas is only in a week!! Oh I am SO excited for this year. Should we get some decorations for our new house?
Oh yes definitely! We first need a Christmas tree that would enlighten this whole house don't you think?
What size should we get? I would like one that fills the whole side of our wall.
I agree. We know that our wall is about 4 meters, so we can probably look for one a tiny bit smaller than that.
Hello Ma'am. We are looking for a tree that can almost fit into our wall which is 4 meters high.
Welcome to Jose's Christmas Tree! May I help you with anything?
For sure. We're actually hosting a special event where if a customer finds a way to measure the tree without using the original method, they are able to get them at half a price. If you're interested, follow me.
These are your options. Feel free to find their measurements in your own way. Good luck!
Hmm.. so I'm thinking that there must be a reason why it says 100 cm on the ground, and I think using this could help me to get the measurements.
Since I'm looking at this tree at 68°, tan (68) which is 2.475 has to equal to height/100 cm. Therefore the height of this tree would be about 248 cm + 180 cm (height from the ground to my eye), 428 cm. Too high!!
This tree that I'm looking at an angle of 65°, can be solved as tan(65) = 2.145. Multiplying it by 100 plus 163 (height from the ground to my eye) will give me 378 cm in total!! I think we found the one!
Congratulations! You have figured it out! Payment will be ready at this desk over here.
Well that was a success! Getting two beautiful christmas trees at a price of one is crazy.. Never knew that high school math would actually help us in this way.
Neither did I my love. I'm glad I didn't completely given it up back in those days. HOHOHO
