- Who do they think they are. Half the population is dying and they are aren't doing anything about it
- How could they?
- This is unacceptable!!!
- So they decided to swear an oath stating that they would not separate until a new constitution was established. This oath is called the Tennis Coart Oath.
- WE DECLARE OURSELVES THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY!
- From May till June of 1789, King Louis XVI hadn't done anything to calm the expanding crowd of opposers.
- And so in July of 1789, the people of Paris storm to Bastille, a royal prison, for armory and ammunition.
- After the National Assembly decreed the abolition of feudalism, they decreed the Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen.
- On July of 1791, the Royal family tried to escape out of Paris, they were lucky that the Assembly didn't decide to execute them.
- STOP! STOP RIGHT THERE!!
- But his luck ran out 1793 when the Assembly had a trial and executed him and Marie Antoinette
