Storyboard Text

  • Hello everyone! Today, I'm going to teach you how to multiply, and divide fractions!
  • Multiplying and Dividing fractions are actually very simple and easy.
  • There is a tip that would be helpful while multiplying and dividing fractions.
  • ALWAYS SIMPLIFY!!!!
  • Question: 2/9 x 3/8
  • So 2/9 will become 1/3 and 3/8 will become 1/4, which equals to: 1/3 x 1/4 = 1/12
  • Ways to simplify: See if the numerator is divisible by the opposite fraction's denominator. If it is, then divide it.
  • First, to multiply fractions, you have to simplify the numerator and the denominator of the fraction.
  • Therefore, the answer to 2/9 x 3/8 is 1/12.
  • Therefore, the answer will be 12/5, or 2 2/5.
  • For dividing, you have to use the KCF method. Keep, Change, Flip.
  • So it'll turn out like this: 4/5 x 6/2
  • Using the KCF method, you'll keep 4/5 as it is, change the division sign into a multiplication sign, and flip the second fraction into an improper fraction.
  • Then you'll simplify. 4/5 will become 2/5 and 6/2 will become 6/1.
  • Question: 4/5 / 2/6
  • 2/4 / 1/2 =
  • EXTRA QUESTIONS!
  • 3/4 / 1/2 =
