This is Malala Yousafzai. She is the main advocate for Female Education. She is currently 20 years old, but started her work when she was 11. She is from Mingora, Pakistan.
Malala's father always encouraged her to learn as much as she could and he also wanted the same education for her as a boy would get.
The social change Malala is standing for is Female Education. Not many countries around the world give females an education because of their gender. Most girls in 3rd world countries are married off at an early age. Wars, Money problems, Health, and Child Labor are all problem that hold women and girls from their education.
Malala was still in school when the Taliban took over Pakistan. They disapproved of girls going to school.
On October 9, 2012 Malala was shot in the face by a Taliban gunman who disapproved of her advocating girls' education
Malala was flown to Queen Elizabeth Hospital on October 19, 2012 after being treated.
Now Malala attends the University of Oxford. She still inspires many around the world.
