Storyboard Text

  • No! I'm fine!
  • There's cuts and burns on you. Are you doing self?
  • I can try but I don't think it'll work.
  • Let's sign you up for a therapy, it can help you relieve some stress. Talking to someone is better than going through this alone.
  • You're just getting stress from trying to please so many people. Talk to someone can help relieve stress.
  • I think it's because of all the problems at home and school.
  • It is. You do it because you want the power to control your body when you have no control over everything else. It's normal, I promise you.
  • So it's not weird? I'm not the only one?
  • 1/5 female and 1/7 male self harm. 50% of people who do that also have reports of being abuse.
  • After doing it, it feels calm and there's a release of tension. Then guilt and shame follows. Is that normal?
  • It's not weird but it can have effect on your body like scarring, numbing, or even paralysis. Stopping it all at once isn't a good thing. Slowly decrease it.
