Augustus has gotten more sick. He has to sleep a lot and when he's not sleeping he has to use a wheelchair. Hazel is very sad about it. There is not much for anyone to do about his condition.
A symbol in the book is that Augustus is that he has a habit of getting cigarettes out but never lighting them. He does this to show that he has something that can hurt but doesn't give it the power to hurt him.
at the end of the book Augustus died. It was very sad. Hazel spoke at the funeral and a little after that the book ended. It was upsetting because many questions were unanswered. I figured out that Hazel died 6 weeks after Augustus. In the end Hazel got more sick suddenly and let herself die peacefully.
