Telemachus called a meeting of Ithaca where he shamed the suitors, even though he felt powerless, and was mad at the public for not defending his mother against the suitors.
The men get Telemachus a ship to go find Odysseus and Athena tells him how to get there.
Athena's instructions were to go to Eumaios's hut where he would meet Odysseus in beggar form.
Telemachus brought Odyesseus, dressed as a beggar, to the palace and Penelope met him without knowing it was him.
All the suitors tried the bow and arrow test but none of them succeeded except Odysseus on his first attempt he was successful.
Penelope sees that the beggar is actually Odysseus and he becomes king again so Telemachus now has the power to kick the suitors out of the kingdom.
