Look at this cool diagram as you can see the moon technically stays the same shape. The reason it seems to have different shapes is the way the sun shines on it while it is rotating around the Earth.

I should probably know this stuff since I am an astronaut but whatever.
The moon rotates the moon at a tilt this is just a model so not completely accurate but in real life, the moon is 238,900 miles away.
Again this is just a model but in real life, the moon has lots of big and little dents called craters.
Do you know how the Earth has a core, mantle, and crust? Well, the moon's structure is like this too.
